GREETINGS RPCS PARENTS/GUARDIANS Get ready—the Scholastic Book Fair is coming to RPCS next week! This is a great opportunity to connect with your child over the thrill of bringing home new books to dive into again and again. Studies show that kids read more when they choose books for themselves. And fostering a love of independent reading leads to a wide variety of benefits—including academic success and improved mental health. Please review the flyers for more information. If you have any questions, contact information is listed on the flyers as well. Thank you and have a great week! #WeAreRockPoint

Trick or Treat Trunk or Treat
THURSDAY OCTOBER 31, 2024 5-6:30 pm
RPCS invites children, accompanied by a chaperone, to the school campus for Trick or Treat and Trunk or Treat. Homes with their porch lights on and have a pumpkin on their front door will have treats. Not all homes will be giving out treats. Please be mindful of that. Thank you.

There may be limited traffic on campus between that time frame so please plan to walk some distance. Practice common safety procedures while trick or treating.

RPCS also invites the community and other organizations to join us by setting up a Trunk or Treat in the lot in front of the Stone Building. It'll be first come first served. Arrive before 5 pm as traffic into the campus may become restricted or limited. Call (928) 659-4606 to reserve a spot or register here: https://forms.office.com/r/Hszkfj6mPN.

RPCS Letter to Parents/Guardians Regarding Drill

Dear Parent and/or Guardian,

At 8:30 AM, October 22, 2024, Rock Point Community School (RPCS) was evacuated AS A OFF-SITE EVACUATION DRILL ONLY to a designated local area. The school remained evacuated until 9:00 AM, when the school’s Crisis Management Team considered the DRILL to be successful. Students and staff returned to their normal school activities.

Evacuation is one of five action responses to emergencies practiced by RPCS, as part of The Crisis Procedure Plan. You can learn more about Evacuation and the other Five Emergency Guidelines by visiting our school.

We wish to thank you for your patience and understanding as we practiced this drill. Our primary concern is always for the safety of our students and staff, and we appreciate your partnership in ensuring that our schools are a safe space for all to learn.

We also want to thank our school and district teams for their efforts to evacuate the school and for ensuring the safety of our students during this drill.

If you have any questions about the drill or school safety more generally, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe learning environment for our students. We are Rock Point!

Sincerely,

Florian Tom Johnson
Acting Superintendent

DRILL ONLY - OFF-SITE EVACUATION
October 22, 2024, ROCK POINT, AZ - Rock Point Community School students and staff are currently being safely evacuated AS PART OF A DRILL ONLY..This drill has been initiated by the School to practice an off-site evacuation in preparation for potential emergencies such as floods, chemical spills, bomb threats, explosions, gas leaks, or similar hazards on or near campus.

If this were a real emergency, updates about the situation and instructions for parent communication would be provided here on the website.

During any real emergency (currently, this is ONLY A DRILL), we kindly ask parents and visitors not to come to the school or call the office. This helps us ensure the safety of students and staff and allows us to respond quickly to emergency communications.

Please know that student safety is our top priority. During any real event, this webpage will be regularly updated with new

Today’s evacuation is ONLY A DRILL. Thank you for your understanding and support in ensuring the safety of our students and staff.
