RPCS SENIOR CLASS WALKTHROUGH INSPIRES ELEMENTARY STUDENTS
May 17, 2024, Rock Point, AZ - The Senior Class Sponsors scheduled the Senior Walkthrough yesterday, May 16, 2024 as a way for Seniors to reconnect with the elementary campus where they began their educational journey. In doing so, they inspired the elementary students who got a glimpse of their own futures. Some classes talked with the seniors and the seniors gave some words of encouragement to some. The halls of the buildings were decorated with congratulatory statements, posters, and graduation themed decorations. Some were in Diné language and some were in English. The Kindergarten immersion class recited the school’s mission and vision for the Seniors which included the words "náásgóó kéyah nináneel’ą́ąjį’ yee át’éego iiná bidziilii yee neilée dooleeł." The Principal of the school led the Class of 2024 through the buildings on campus including various departments as Seniors received gifts and words of encouragment. We wish you all the best in health and success in your chosen futures, Class of 2024! Please come and visit us as you always have a home to come back to.

Dear Parents, Grandparents, & Guardians,
Rock Point Community School’s (RPCS) culture-based education program strives for students to develop a strong, positive indigenous identity which aligns with the school’s mission to “…maintain their Dine language and cultural uniqueness.” RPCS hopes for students to be active in their traditional spirituality and demonstrate responsibility to family. The upcoming partial solar eclipse is an opportunity for parents and family members to teach traditional and family practices while developing their children’s cognitive skills. This follows the “Every Parent is the First Teacher” in the school’s vision statement.
RPCS will not have school on Monday, April 08, 2024, due to the expected partial solar eclipse. Students and families can practice their customs and mores at home, honor their connections to the heavens, practice their spiritual beliefs, exercise their role and responsibilities within their families, and respect the natural environment. Extracurricular activities will be cancelled and rescheduled. School will resume on Tuesday, April 09, 2024.
Thank you for your endless support and commitment to Rock Point Community School.
Sincerely,
Deana Dugi, Superintendent
